on track to Round North Island Race

Thanks to a ton of work put in by my father jim, we are on track to be on the start line for the race.

4 Goals

Goal 1 be on the start line.
Goal 2 finish.
Goal 3 no carnage to boat or person.
Goal 4 get a result.

We put the boat back in the water today with new anti fouling. The new speedo, has been playing up a bit and we had some trouble with the tiller pilot and other electronics in the Round White Island race, as well as a broken spinnaker boom beak, cabin hatch and a tear in our mainsail, so there has been a big push on to overcome these setbacks, and for a while there, things did seem overwhelmingly, negative (especially when giving thought to the auto helm (nicknamed wilson).

But dads tenacity (and $) has seen these problems adressed, and I am quietly confident that we wont have the same experience as the RWI. However with a very hectic lead up and the boat being constantly visited by contractors, there hasn't been any much of an opportunity to get out on the water for some important R and D. This is on the agenda and as soon as we get the Cat 2 sign off well be out for a jaunt to do some testing.

Still a bit to do with just over a month to go now.

Tom has alot on his plate as well, before he even starts thinking about the race.

So making it to the start line will be an achievement, and I never anticipated that it would be such a big one
